1. Scope and standard

This statement applies to the “Kadence” app (iOS) and the website kadence-app.com. The standard is EN 301 549 in conjunction with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, conformance level AA.

As a micro-enterprise, in our understanding we do not fall under the obligations of the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG), which implements EU Directive 2019/882, for services. We publish this statement voluntarily: accessibility is a baseline of this app, and a statement naming the known gaps is more honest than none.

2. Compliance status

The app and the website are partially compliant with the requirements named above. The items listed below are known and being worked on.

3. What works

• VoiceOver: All controls carry labels and roles, in German and English matching the app language. Sliders and reorder handles can be operated via the VoiceOver rotor, so swipe gestures are never required. Decorative illustrations are hidden from screen readers; the information is provided as text next to them.
• Large view: A dedicated mode enlarges text by 30 percent, raises touch targets to at least 56 points and disables the “tap to pause” gesture so it cannot trigger accidentally. It is available in the profile and during onboarding.
• Contrast: The colour palette was checked against 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for controls; category colours have dedicated text variants that meet the ratio. Light and dark mode follow the system setting.
• Motion: The system setting “Reduce Motion” is respected; ring animations, countdown transitions and the onboarding tour then run without animation.
• Touch targets: At least 44 × 44 points, 56 × 56 in large view.
• Not visual only: Set completion, countdown and transitions are also conveyed haptically and by voice cue.
• Website: Heading structure, keyboard operability, language markup per page and alternative text for images. No motion without user interaction, no time limits.

4. Known limitations

The following items do not yet meet the requirements. They are tracked as tasks and will be fixed in upcoming versions.

1. Dynamic Type (WCAG 1.4.4). The app adopts the system text size, but line heights are still fixed. At very large system text sizes lines may overlap or be clipped. As an interim measure, use Large View in the profile.
2. Placeholder text contrast (WCAG 1.4.3). Placeholders in input fields reach about 3.5:1 instead of the required 4.5:1.
3. Swipe to delete (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.5.1). In some lists, deleting a row is only reachable via a swipe gesture and not yet offered to VoiceOver as an action. Deletion is possible in those cases via the row’s detail view.
4. Voice cues and VoiceOver. The app’s training cues run independently of VoiceOver. If both are active, two voices can overlap. Cues can be turned off under Profile → Voice cues & audio.
5. Some statistic tiles are read by VoiceOver as three separate elements (value, unit, label) instead of one statement.

5. Feedback and contact

If you encounter a barrier not listed here, or one of those listed prevents you from using the app, write to the e-mail address given above or use Profile → Feedback in the app. We usually reply within two weeks and name an accessible alternative where possible.

This statement is available in German and English. In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.
