Delete your Kadence account
This page explains how to delete your account for the Kadence app — published on Google Play by Base42 — and the data linked to it. You can do it in the app or, without the app, by e-mail.
Kadence works without an account. An account only exists if you created one to use cloud backup or to send feedback with a reply.
1. In the app
- Open the Profile tab.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm with Delete account permanently.
This deletes your account with our sign-in service and all backed-up data. The data on your device is unaffected.
2. Without the app: by e-mail
If you no longer have the app or your device, write us an informal e-mail:
Subject: “Delete my account”
- Send it from the e-mail address of your Kadence account, so we can match the request to your account.
- Subject, for example: “Delete my account”. No further details are needed.
- We delete your account and your backed-up data as described below. We handle the request within the statutory period — within one month of receipt (Art. 12(3) GDPR).
If you cannot write from that address — for example because you signed in with Apple using a hidden relay address — say so in your e-mail. We may then need to confirm by other means that the account is yours before we delete it.
3. What is deleted
- Your account with our sign-in service: your e-mail address, the name you provided and your sign-in method.
- Your cloud backup, if you turned it on: we destroy your account’s key and delete the stored entries. This makes previously taken backup copies permanently unreadable as well.
- The link between your account and your subscription records.
4. What is kept, and for how long
Some data is not part of the account and is therefore not removed by deleting it:
- Data on your device (workouts, nutrition, settings): it stays until you remove the app from your device. Export files you created yourself are copies outside the app; delete them wherever you saved or sent them.
- Trial start per Kadence ID without a subscription: two years after the installation’s last contact with our server, so that no second trial starts on the same device.
- Subscription status and association of Kadence IDs with the subscription: for the duration of the subscription and three years thereafter, without reference to your account.
- Event log of notifications from our purchase processor RevenueCat: twelve months.
- Accounting records: seven years; they contain no details about individual users.
- Feedback and attachments: six months after closure.
- Shared content (links and QR codes): until the expiry shown when sharing; final deletion at the latest 30 days after expiry.
- Server logs: 7 days.
On request to the address above, we delete feedback and shared content earlier, and the trial and subscription records per Kadence ID unless a retention obligation prevents this.
Deleting your account does not end a subscription. Cancel it separately in the store where you took it out.
Full details: Privacy Policy, 3.11 Export and deletion and 6. Retention.
5. Deleting your backup without deleting the account
In the app under Profile › Account, turn off Back up training and nutrition data and choose Delete server data. This withdraws your consent to cloud backup: we destroy your account’s key and delete the stored entries. Your account and the data on your device remain.
If you choose “Keep” instead, backup is only paused and the encrypted backup stays stored. You can also request deletion of your backed-up data by e-mail.
